摘要

Future 6G networks will operate in high-dimensional, dynamic, and hardware-constrained environments where conventional optimization and short-sighted reinforcement learning are no longer sufficient.

This talk presents AI-native wireless designs spanning both physical-layer intelligence and network-level reasoning. At the signal level, deep learning replaces iterative optimization and explicit channel estimation to enable scalable, hardware-aware, and energy-efficient reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided millimeter-wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems. At the network level, a dual-mind world model (DMWM) integrates pattern-driven learning with logic-driven reasoning to enable long-term planning, data-efficient adaptation, and robust generalization in dynamic wireless environments. Together, these efforts reflect a broader shift from reactive optimization toward predictive, representation-driven intelligence for 6G networks.

Dr. Chou concludes by reflecting on how this evolution in wireless intelligence parallels his Doctor of Philosophy journey. Each transition embodies uncertainty, adaptation, and growth. Just as spectrum harmony requires balance among competing systems, the Ph.D. represents the pursuit of equilibrium within complexity, transforming challenge into clarity.

BIO
Dr. Chou, Po-Heng (Bone) received the Ph.D. degree from the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering (GICE), National Taiwan University (NTU), Taipei, Taiwan, in 2020. His research focuses on AI for communications, deep learning, signal processing, wireless networks, and wireless communications. Dr. Chou was a Postdoctoral Fellow hosted by Prof. Yu Tsao (IEEE Senior Member) at the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation (CITI), Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, from Sept. 2020 to Sept. 2024. He was invited to visit Virginia Tech (VT) Research Center (D.C. Area), Arlington, VA, USA, as a Postdoctoral Visiting Fellow hosted by Prof. Walid Saad (IEEE Fellow) from Aug. 2023 to Feb. 2024. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow hosted by Prof. Li-Chun Wang (IEEE Fellow) at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Hsinchu, Taiwan, from Oct. to Dec. 2024. Since 2025, Dr. Chou has been a Postdoctoral Visiting Fellow at VT Institute for Advanced Computing (D.C.
